The Quizness @ Newark Masonic Hall

Writer: WebmasterWebmaster

The Quizness; a quiz with a difference helped to raise a fabulous £452 for the Nottinghamshire 2029 Festival.

Buoyed by Quizmaster Andy Oliver’s first appearance at Newark Masonic Hall in 2024, the Hall Festival Stewards Committee agreed that a repeat performance would be in order and how right they were! Word of the fun event had obviously spread as attendance was up 40% on the previous year with attendees enjoying a fun evening of questions played on electronic tablets and also a few rounds of Play Your Cards Right, all complimented by a well-stocked bar and a sumptuous buffet.

Such events are a great way to introduce non-masons to our Fraternity which helps dispel any myths the general public may hold about our organisation and the opportunity was not lost on this occasion with non-masons making up 79% of those present.

The proceeds of the event were split between the 4 Newark lodges that were represented, according to the number of their members that attended, for their onward submission to the Festival appeal.

A big thanks to all who helped in its organisation and on the night without whose assistance events such as this wouldn’t be possible

Next year’s date will be announced shortly, but spaces will be limited to 60, so be sure to book your places early!
