Nottinghamshire Festival Garden Party: A Sun-Drenched Success at Holme Pierrepont!

The Nottinghamshire Festival Garden Party, held on Saturday, July 20th, at Holme Pierrepont, was an all round success with well over 250 attendees basking in the beautiful, sunny weather. The event brought the community together for a day filled with laughter, fun, and a shared spirit of fundraising generosity.

Attendees had the chance to participate in an array of entertaining fundraising games. "Play Your Cards Right" challenged participants' luck and wits, while the pitch and putt and bowls games offered a bit of friendly competition. The intriguing "Wine or Water" game kept everyone guessing, and many more activities ensured there was never a dull moment.

A particular highlight of the day was the set of stocks, where various leaders bravely volunteered to take wet sponges to the face—all in the name of charity. This amusing spectacle drew plenty of cheers and laughter from the crowd.

A heartfelt thank you to Matt Lymn Rose for bringing his pony and offering delightful rides to the children! The event also featured a raffle and a cake sale (thankyou to all the bakers who brought their homemade treats along), both of which were immensely popular.

The bus bar kept spirits high, serving a range of refreshing beverages throughout the day. But perhaps the biggest hit was the Hog Roast Cobs - the lengthy queue at times was a testament to its popularity, with many attendees enjoying the delicious treat.

Adding to the festive atmosphere was the live music provided by the uniquely named band, "Bobbley's Brizzly Grizzly Brutus Beefcake Barber Bam Bam Stompin Oompah Band." Their lively performance kept the crowd entertained and dancing, creating a joyful ambiance that resonated throughout the venue.

The Nottinghamshire Festival Garden Party was a resounding success, thanks to the enthusiastic participation of the community and the tireless efforts of the organisers. There was in excess of £2,500 made towards the Nottinghamshire Festival 2029 appeal, so huge thank you to everyone who attended and supported the event. Your contributions made a significant impact and ensured that the day was both enjoyable and fruitful.
